Here's the thing about being creative. You always have to be open minded.
Let the piece speak to you and don't fight the end result.
Only then can your true creativity shine.

That was definitely the case for this piece. I am thrilled with how it turned out.
But to be quite honest, it's not what I had "planned" for.
I do not start redesigning a piece until it speaks to me; I thought I
had heard this one loud and clear but my preconceived
notions got in the way.

Another sweet side table that has the same lines as Molly,
I immediately knew that I wanted to give it the same colour scheme.
When I was "finished" it just wasn't right. Something was missing.
Without even knowing it the distressing process began.

I'm glad I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried some distressing.
It made all the difference!
The table went from simple and ordinary to charming and chic.

Another classic colour combination of Paris Grey and Old White.
Hand waxed for added protection.

 Approx. 14" x 19" x 29" H

Pretty in Pink

I found this gold scroll mirror back in the fall while garage sale hunting for some special finds in a small, quaint town not too far from me. The sellers were ecstatic about the sale.
They couldn't understand why anyone would want to buy such an ugly mirror and had resolved
themselves to the fact that they would probably be donating it or throwing it out.

I, on the other hand, was ecstatic to have found such a piece.
I had just purchased a sample pot of Annie Sloan's chalk paint in Antoinette and knew
it would be the perfect colour for this frame.

The greatness of this piece is in its versatility.
I've transformed it into not only a "pretty in pink" mirror,
but also a chalkboard, and a great decorative piece when using the frame on its own!

Meet Molly. She's innocent and sweet. I fell in love with her as soon as I saw
her scalloped edges and knew exactly what I wanted
to do with this redesign.

Jane ~ SOLD

When I found this desk it was white with gold trim detailing.
Harsh on the eyes and not what I would consider to be very pretty, but
I knew I could soften it up with some pink and cream.
I now love how delicate the legs look, and the overall loveliness of the piece.

Hand painted using Annie Sloan chalk paint in Coco, with Antoinette on the drawers and
Old Ochre on the hardware.
This  has been finished with a soft wax for protection.
40" x 17.5" x 30" H
