The antique china cabinet is by far my favourite piece of furniture to redesign.
While it certainly exudes elegance and charm in its original state, the harshness
of the dark stained wood seems to hide its finer details and beauty.
Giving the piece a light, soft feel now allows delicate features, like the intricate
scroll trim in the glass door, to be highlighted.
Redesigning furniture isn't just about dipping a brush into some paint and
changing the colour of a piece of furniture.
It's about giving the piece a fresh start....a new life even.
Much like the crisp air of spring breathes new life into everything around us;
creating change, renewal and hope.
Hand painted in Annie Sloan's Paris Grey and Old White.
Finished with clear wax.
